Friday Focus: Serve the City and students unite to create change in Manila, the Philippines!

This week, we are focusing on Serve the City Philippines. Founded in 2023, and lead by Celso Manangan, Celso and his team have recently reached a milestone in volunteer engagement by creating a partnership with José Rizal University [https://jru.edu/]. Together both José Rizal University students and Serve the City Philippines have high aims for the next year.

With a student body of over 20,000, this partnership will engage them in volunteering towards combatting plastic pollution, a key priority for Serve the City Philippines. They will also be launching anti−bullying campaigns across high schools, working to increase literacy and helping to prepare young adults who are entering the workforce.

But that’s not all! This first step is part of a much bigger project where the STC Philippines’ team will be contacting over 200 universities in the Philippines using this partnership as a template to drive youth volunteering across the country.

We celebrate Serve the City Philippines!

At Serve the City, many people doing small things together can make a big difference!
