World Homeless Day
It is estimated that 150 million people are homeless worldwide and 1.6 billion people around the world live in inadequate shelter.
Serve the City International commemorates one day a month to highlight a specific world-wide shared concern. The 10th of October is World Homeless Day. STC cities around the world engage in helping the homeless, homeless transformation, and many other volunteer opportunities to bring dignity, health, and opportunities to people experiencing homelessness. World Homless Day began in 2010 as an initiative of many different organizations. Read more at www.worldhomelessday.org to engage in many different projects and follow our social media for more ideas from STC cities.
A note to current STC city leaders, core teams, and volunteers: STC has created a social media graphics package for each of our monthly world days, you can use these to promote and spread awareness to this global concern and link to this page. You can access this in the STC Lobby under “resources” or follow this link for STC’s World Homeless Day graphics. Don’t have access to the lobby?
